OSHTOORA: A TEMPORARY STATE

2015, Ras Sudr, South Sinai & 2016, Fayoum, Cairo.

A music festival who took place in a valley close to the coastal highway in Ras Sudr in South Sinai. Our design team was responsible for designing a temporary village using local and environmentally friendly materials which could be constructed and removed without leaving any footprint, it should also be packed and stored to be reused in their next events. The structure was mainly wood covered with Henna Sheets (provide a shading solution with air ventilation.)  The Village consists of 4 main Areas: 1. Concert zone | 2. The food court zone | 3. Camp ground | 4. Toilets and showers. Combining between wood, string, henna sheets, boxes made from palm trees and chain link fencing, we were able to create the infromation booth, bar, stage control room and a playground. The temporary playground was designed for kids and adults alike. It included a monkey bar, swings and a trampoline.
